Thursday's Glorious Living

Every book is a quotation; and every house is a quotation out of all forests, and mines, and stone quarries; and every man is a quotation from all his ancestors.

To introduce my themewriting with the days of the week I'll tell you something about the characteristic elements of the thursday
Planet: Jupiter
Nordic Mythology: Thor
Arch Angel: Sachiel
Qualities: possesions, see the whole picture, conversation, the line trough it all, making connections
Color: purple/blue
Element: fire

The thursday is named after the Nordic god Thor, in German Donar. The day thursday in Dutch is called donderdag. The first part of the word, "donder", has everything to do with Thor. Thor is the god of lightning and thunder, in Dutch the thunder is called "donder". The Roman equal god is Jupiter, the planet is named after the god. In Greek mythology Zeus, in Egyptian Ptah and Celtic Dagda.
First you'll need to know that Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. These gods are rulers of the sky in their mythology. Just like that big planet over there. For they are rulers of the sky they see the world trough the bird's eye, that gives them a great overview and makes that they see the line trough it all. They see the whole picture. Though they rule in the sky, they are allso known for their domesticity, hearthfire.
Sachiel, the ArchAngel, is a well-built older man, wearing a purple cloak with golden coins with carved pentagrams. He is the angel that has everything to do with possesions, money and prosperity.

I find it very interesting that a mighty god like Thor with his hammer (if he hits it against the clouds it causes thunderstorms) terrifying on first sight, is just a well-built and muscled man who likes to sit around the housefire. I can almost see him sitting down in a comfy chair with his feet up on a footstool and a cat on his lap reading the newspaper (oops, almost blasphemy).
Thursday will be my blogday about Glorious Living.
